These biodegradable plastics tasting or shot glasses are made from PLA - a plastic resin made from corn starch. However, you would have to be an expert in plastics to tell the difference because these plastic glasses seem just like any other plastic glass. They are strong, clear and completely fit for purpose. A biodegradable lid is available for this pot.
Not suitable for hot liquids.
Although corn starch is a renewable resource (unlike oil based plastics), to get the full benefit from using PLA, these glasses must be composted in properly maintained facilities. Degradation will take between 60 and 180 days in such conditions. They will not degrade in a land fill site.
